How do I prepare for my Portrait Session?

Start thinking about where you would like to display your portrait so I can compose accordingly for a horizontal, vertical or square image. Please let me know the colors in your home so I may bring backdrops that will complement your color scheme.

What is the sequence of events and time table?

You can make an appointment for a Portrait Session by clicking on Portrait Services/Portrait Reservation (creation fee due at that time).
I will call you to schedule the Portrait Session and provide a consultation to prepare you for your session.
Portrait Session takes place at the location of your choice.

Client ordering session can be done approximately 1 week after the session in your home. At that time you'll select the products you would like to purchase.
Products will be delivered approximately 3 weeks later.

What is your pricing set up?

There is a Portrait Session cost (sometimes referred to as a sitting fee) plus the price of products you order. There are different Portrait Session prices based on the experience you want to create. The Portrait Session fee covers the session at your location, professional retouching to remove flyaway hairs, blemishes, etc, the Ordering Session, and maintaining your images on file for 12 months. After the session cost, which is due when you make your reservation, printed products are sold a-la-carte. Occasionally I will offer package pricing for different holidays or events. Please send me an email to get on the list to receive special offers. dredes1@woh.rr.com

What products do you offer?

I offer unframed portraits mounted on styrene and canvas wraps. For more information view Portrait Pricing. I also provide you with a low resolution image of every print purchased for sharing on social media.

Where do the photo sessions take place?

Portrait sessions take place at a location of your choice, for example your home or yard, a public park. Please note there is a $1 per mile charge for locations outside Miami or Montgomery County, Ohio, from those county lines.

What should I wear?

For indoor portraits I suggest you wear 3/4 length or long sleeves in solid colors. Your clothing color should contrast with your pet so they stand out, but not extreme contrast. For example, if you have a black dog, a white shirt would not be a good choice.

For outdoor portraits, you should dress more casually, however I do suggest long pants (no shorts). For a casual look, barefoot is fun.

How long will the session take?

Depending on the type of session you choose, the time will vary. For a one hour indoor session I will be at your home for about 1 hour, with 20-30 minutes of shooting time. The remainder of time will be spent with set up/tear down of equipment allowing your pets time to get comfortable with a stranger in their environment.

How long before I receive my prints?

I will deliver your prints or canvas about 3 weeks after you place your order.
